You wont be able to do that for much longer if you choose buying all your movies and TV programs on the PlayStation Store. In an article today, Sony revealed that it is stopping those purchases on its digital shop starting August 31st.
As for why, Sony cites the “tremendous development” of entertainment consumed through subscription-based services and ad-based entertainment streaming services on the businesss PlayStation hardware.
Fortunately, Sony confirms that anyone who has acquired film or TV material through the PS Store or strategies to do so before August will still have access to that material after the changes enter into impact, with on-demand playback available on PS4, PS5, and mobile gadgets.
This is not the very first time Sony has actually removed less popular media from the PS Store. Last October, Sony stated the revamped PS Store that got here prior to the launch of the PS5 would no longer allow users to acquire older video games and DLC released at first on the PS3 or the PSP and Vita handhelds, unless you were searching the store from those gadgets.
