Christopher Judge, the actor known to PlayStation fans as God of War’s Kratos, claims to be responsible for the delay of the upcoming sequel, God of War Ragnarok.

In a heartfelt series of tweets, the actor reveals that he suffered a period of poor health, which impacted his ability to work on the project. Judge says that, in “August 2019, I couldn’t walk. Had to have back surgery, both hips replaced, and knee surgery.” Apparently, Santa Monica Studio was very accommodating, and waited for him to return to health before carrying out more performance capture work.

“No threats, no ‘who do you think you are?’ Nothing but love and support. And [Santa Monica Studio] has never said a word about the delay, and what caused it,” Judge continues:

It’s obviously very unfortunate that the actor went through all that, and we sincerely hope he’s back to full health. We’re happy to hear that the dev team gave Judge the time he needed to recuperate, even if it meant a delay in production.

Of course, the actor shouldn’t take the blame of Ragnarok’s delay; we’re sure multiple different factors led to the game falling into 2022. Naturally, the reaction from fans has been extremely supportive, which is a great thing to see.

Good stuff all around, then. Be excellent to each other in the comments section below.
