Some Android apps are crashing for some individuals right now, however Google is dealing with a repair. The issue is because of a system component called Android System WebView that lets Android apps show web content, but it has some type of issue today that is causing apps to crash.
” We understand a problem with WebView triggering some apps on Android to crash for some users,” Google said in a statement to The Verge. “We are currently working to fully validate a repair and the scope remains in development.”
Some users are stating that eliminating the newest update to WebView needs to repair the issue– and in reality, Samsungs main US assistance Twitter account recommends taking that precise step.
Google also acknowledges problems with Gmail on Android on the Google Workspace status page. The company recommends utilizing the desktop user interface up until issues are dealt with.

Hi! Thanks for bringing this to our attention. Please remove the Webview Update and after that reboot the phone. Here are the actions: Go settings > > apps > > tap the 3 dots in the top right corner > > show system apps > > look for Android System WebView > > select Uninstall updates. ^ Nina– Samsung Support US (@SamsungSupport) March 22, 2021
